How to convert between old and new Litecoin address formats

At the moment, Litecoin addresses are used both in new and old formats. These formats might look as follows:

New format	Old format

If you cannot add funds to your Wirex account from an external wallet because the address is not accepted or marked invalid, this means that your external wallet does not support new LTC address format yet. In Wirex, you can easily convert LTC address format when adding funds from or sending them to an external wallet. 

How to convert LTC address in Wirex Web application

When adding funds from external wallet:

1. On the Dashboard, select Litecoin wallet. 
2. On the left pane of your Wirex Litecoin wallet, click Show old format.
3. To return to the new format of the address, click Show new format. 
4. To use the address in the external wallet, click Copy.

When sending funds to external wallet:

1. On the Dashboard, select Litecoin wallet. 
2. On the left pane of your Wirex Litecoin wallet, click Send funds from this account.
3. In the Send funds window, enter the recipient's address (the "Send to" field). If it is in the old format, the system will suggest you the converted address in the new format.  

How to convert LTC address in Wirex iOS and Android application

When adding funds from external wallet:

1. On the Dashboard, swipe the screen to find and select the Litecoin wallet.
2. Tap Address in old format. On the Old LTC format screen, tap Copy address to use the address in external wallet.

When sending funds to external wallet:

1. On the Dashboard, tap + > select Send funds > Litecoin Wallet.
2. On the Send LTC screen, enter the Litecoin address of the external wallet, add sum you want to send, and tap Next. If the external wallet does not support the current address format, the destination address will be converted to the appropriate format. 
3. Tap Confirm to complete your transaction.
